Spring (Summer) Comes Early - March 2012

We've had an unseasonably warm winter and practically skipped Spring w/ temps in the 80s in mid-March! Mallory has been able to get to the park almost every day - loves the swing the best but checks out the slide and bouncy chair too!  We also made it to the Lincoln Park Zoo to check out the monkeys.

Mexican Vacay - February 2012

Mallory took Mommy & Daddy and Aunt Renee to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico to escape the Chicago winter for awhile. She was an EXCELLENT traveler - was a better flyer than her Mommy and enjoyed the fun in the sun for 7 days. She used her skills from swim lessons in the pool each day and even went in the ocean!

Mallory's Baptism - 1/29/12

Mallory celebrated her first holy sacrament at St. Benedict's Church in our neighborhood.   Friends and family came out to help celebrate at the church and a cake party afterwards at home including her Godparents - Aunt Renee & Tommy Fazio.  We didn't time her lunchtime bottle very well so she was pretty hungry and fussed through most of the ceremony but had a great day with everyone - especially her new bff Isabella Steliga.

Woman on the Move

Well, for the past week or so Mallory has decided that rolling around on the floor wasn't good enough and she decide to start crawling.  Now Megan and I have the added fun of putting her down on her play mat only to find her on the other side of the condo.

We are very lucky that Mallory is such a happy baby.  Here she is playing with dad.

Movin' and A-Shakin'

Mallory is probably only a week or so away from crawling.  She now rolls over with ease and actually uses her rolling to get places.  She's also perfecting her communication skills - which can be pretty funny.  Here, she is working on giving us raspberries.

Mallory is 6 months old!

How fast time has flown by.  Mallory is already a half year old!  She's turning into such a little lady. She can sit up by herself for minutes at a time, eagerly eats her veggies & fruits, is taking swim & music lessons and entertaining her Mommy & Daddy with all her new skills and talents.

Christmas '11 and New Years '12

The Melson family had a great time for Christmas this year in Indianapolis visiting Megan's family.  It was a great chance for Mallory to spend some time with her maternal relatives and meet some new family members.  She got to spend time with aunts, cousins, second cousins, her Great Grandmother Mimi, and Nannie and Boppo.  While there, we also got to meet up with some Purdue friends as we meet up with the Snyder and Rahe families.  Patrick also got to enjoy a Purdue bowl win with Ajit, Christian and Ryan.

New Years was spent living the lake house life at the Pearce's.  Ryan and Melissa had us at their place in Union, MI on Long Lake.  A few encounters with drunk locals withstanding, we had a great time.
