Darcy Lou Lou

Hard to believe that Darcy Lou is already 9 months old!  She's a very happy, smiley little girl.  She thinks everything her big sis does is wonderful and stares at her in amazement.  She loves Finley too and likes to pet him any chance she gets.  She's eager to walk - giggles when we hold her hands to let her take steps - and pulls herself up - she's a quick crawler - we're going to be in trouble once she can walk.

AH-MAY-ZING!

The Polar Bear at the Lincoln Park Zoo is one of Mallory's favorite exhibits - I must admit, he puts on a great show.

They Like to Move It Move It

The girls have been very musical this summer - they attended Music Class together - Darcy was so enthralled with all of the activity, songs, dancing and especially the instruments.  She loves shaking the eggs, playing the drums and jingling bells!

Mallory went to Dance Camp at Fairytale Ballet School where they danced, sang, did crafts and re-enacted favorite fairytale stories like Little Mermaid & Frozen (wore costumes too).  She loved it and will continue to take ballet in the fall.

Summer?

Anyone in Chicago would probably say that summer is too short but this summer flew by - w/ the mild temps and our busy schedule it was a whirlwind.  We kicked off the summer at Lake Wawasee where Aunt Renee married Uncle Dan - it was a beautiful ceremony overlooking the lake.  Mallory & Darcy both served as flower girls and did a great job!

In July we spent the 4th weekend in Lansing, IL at the Bloms and went to the Highland Festival where Mallory rode tons of rides - possibly a new Melson tradition!  We also celebrated Mallory's bday at Fair Oaks Farm w/ Nannie & Boppo and lots of aunts, uncles & cousins!

Mostly we just enjoyed the summer with lots of walks to the parks, playing w/ chalk & scooters/bikes outside and being with each other!

Darcy Louise

Hard to believe that Darcy is already 5 mos old!  Time really does fly!  Darcy is our sweet pea baby girl - very cheery & calm disposition and she absolutely loves watching all the silly things her sister is up to.  Darcy is movin and a-shakin now - rolling over on her belly and grabbing at everything including Mommy's hair!

Darcy's Baptism

Darcy was lucky to have both sets of her grandparents come to town for her baptism  -and her great grandmother Mimi as well.  Darcy's godmother Kara Kalivoda will be leading her down her spiritual path.  Darcy's baptism was at St. Benedict church and we had a good group of family and friends join us for the ceremony followed by yummy cake at our place.
